We cultivate seventeen acres of irrigated Robusta coffee at Busoke, intercropped with banana for natural shade management and optimal land use. The plantation runs on sprinkler irrigation that gives us year-round production capability — a significant advantage in a region where most smallholders depend entirely on rainfall. Our organic fertilizer from the rabbit unit is applied directly to the coffee fields, closing the loop between livestock, soil inputs, and crop output in a fully integrated production cycle.
Our focus is on variety selection, pest and disease management, and post-harvest quality. We maintain monthly diagnostics across the plantation, tracking borer incidence, leaf rust, and nutritional deficiencies at the individual block level. Coffee is part of our diversified crop portfolio — alongside institutional food supply contracts — and we are building export channels to move Ugandan Robusta into specialty and commercial markets beyond the farm gate.
